He is risen indeed, hallelujah

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

Happy First Easter Mackey! It was a very special Easter since we also dedicated Mack to the risen Lord today at church. It was really a wonderful day. Almost all of our family came to celebrate with us and spend time with Mack...who held up remarkably well for a little 11 week old given all the activity and bustle. He slept through his whole blessing...

It was also very special that Richard's Meemaw was able to come for the dedication. We were able to capture 4 generations of the family together today:

Thanks to all our family and friends who shared this time with us and have been such a blessing our lives. Happy Easter to all on this happy day.

National Champions

Watching Tyler Hansborough jump for joy as he left the court last night flooded me with the warm fuzzies. Big goofy guy that he is, his happiness and utter joy made my spirit fly. The lesson to learn and pass on to my kiddo: passion + hard work + great teammates + a great coach = a dream come true & a game well played. (Oh yea, embracing your natural talents doesn't hurt either.)

Working Mom

This is me now - a working mom.  It's not exactly what I pictured growing up but so far things are going pretty great.  I only had one day last week that I wanted to run out of my office, crying, home to my baby, never to return to work again.  But that passed and it was back to work the next day, sleep-deprived and armed with my breast pump and "do not enter" sign (but that's a post for another day).  Each day is a small triumph of the will.

Richard is a great stay at home daddy.  And on top of staying home with a tiny baby, he's also having to keep the house looking superb because we're nuts and are trying to sell it.  Why are we trying to sell our house (and why is a working mom posting on her blog at 11:00 am on a Wednesday?) - because we're closing on the purchase of a "new" home in Efland, NC today (supposedly - but that's a whole other saga).  We love chaos!  Richard is also working hard with his expanding coaching business AND waking up at 5:45 every morning to go for a run before I leave for work.  I don't think this is the life he pictured growing up either, but it's funny how what you always imagined sometimes is no where close to what makes you the happiest ever.

Mack had is two month birthday last Thursday and he's just as cute and smiley as ever.  It's still amazing to us how quickly he's learning and growing.  This is Mack on his 2 month birthday:

Thanks Dad for the super cool spoon glasses.

And here are a couple of funny videos from recent days:
